Teammates surrounded Gardner-Johnson as he was being helped up before a cart eventually came over to take him off. It's almost a repeat of last year when he suffered a knee injury during training camp as a member of the Texans, but avoided what was originally thought to be an ACL tear.

The veteran defensive back signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Bills in the offseason after starting last year with the Texans (three games), ultimately finishing with the Chicago Bears (10 games).
This is Gardner-Johnson's fifth team in three years. He was part of the Eagles back in 2024 when they went on to win the Super Bowl, a season in which Gardner-Johnson tied his career high with six interceptions that season, along with 59 tackles and 12 pass deflections.
He was just two tackles shy of setting a career high last season after putting up 66 with a career-best six quarterback hits and three sacks.
The Bills start their regular season on September 13th against the Texans.
