Alpine skiing: Men's slalom

First run 10:00 CET / Second run 13:30 CET - Stelvio Ski Centre (Bormio)

The spotlight will again be on Brazil's Lucas Pinheiro Braathen on Monday as he attempts to add to his giant slalom gold medal, which secured the first medal ever for South America at the Winter Olympics with victory in the slalom.

Braathen will, however, face stiff competition from close friend and former Norway teammate Atle Lie McGrath, who is leading the World Cup slalom standings just above Braathen.

An unlikely contender who has suddenly stolen the limelight in Milan is Switzerland's Tanguy Nef, who will aim to repeat his performance from the men's team combined when he posted the fastest slalom time of 51.82 seconds to claim the gold for himself and teammate Franjo von Allmen, who finished 4th in the downhill.

Other household names that could play a role in the event are the defending Olympic champion, Clement Noel, the 2025 World Champion, Loic Meillard, and Henrik Kristoffersen, Norway's most successful slalom skier ever.

Ice Hockey: USA vs Sweden (women's semi-final)

16:40 CET - Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena (Milan)

The USA and Sweden head into their semi-final as unbeaten in the tournament, so one of them will taste defeat for the first time in Milan.

Playing in Italy has been a good omen for the Scandinavians as they are one win away from emulating their performance from Turin 2005 when they reached the final.

Qualifying for the semi-final will have a familiar feeling for the Americans, as they have reached this stage of the competition in every edition of the Olympics.

The USA are also a heavy favourite against the Swedes, as the only time they failed to reach the final was in 2006, when the Swedes managed to get the better of them in overtime.

The US will mostly look to Caroline Harvey, currently the leading scorer in the tournament with nine points (two goals, seven assists), to provide the magic.

The 23-year-old has played a crucial role for the Americans, as she has tied the record for most points by a US defender in a single tournament run.

Ebba Svensson Traff will be guarding the Swedish goal and has just conceded two goals in the four games. Traff incredibly saved all 29 shots she faced in Sweden’s quarter-final shutout against Czechia.

Freestyle skiing: Women's big air final

19:30 CET - Livigno Snow Park

Chinese star Eileen Gu struggled a bit to qualify after falling on her second attempt in the Livigno Snow Park, but is still the favourite to win her first gold medal of the Winter Olympics in the women's freestyle skiing big air final.

Gu, who has faced intense criticism for choosing to represent China instead of the United States, particularly due to her American upbringing, recaptured her composure for her third and final effort, where she landed a jump with more complexity than what was necessary to seal second place.

Canada's Megan Oldham won the qualification and will head into the event having won bronze in slopestyle days ago.

One should also not underestimate four-time big air X Games champion Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland, who managed to defend her Olympic title in slopestyle and qualified for this final in third.

Great Britain's Kirsty Muir could also be a likely candidate to make the podium, while Italy's Flora Tabanelli will carry the local hopes after qualifying in sixth despite suffering an ACL injury leading up to the Games.
