Clara Tauson on Friday night withdrew at the start of the third set against Katie Boulter in the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami when the scoreline was 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 in Boulter's favor.

Clara Tauson had to abandon her match against Katie Boulter after suffering back pain during the match. The Danish tennis player fought back well to win the first set, but during the second set the problems began to show.

Tauson repeatedly touched her back and seemed inhibited in her movement pattern, while her frustrations also began to build up.

At 40-40 in the second game of the third set, the Dane chose to call the physiotherapist, but without receiving treatment on the court. Shortly afterwards it became clear that she could not continue. Tauson packed up her racket and withdrew from the match.
