Scotland are lucky enough to play their first two group games at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. 

Being based at MLS side Charlotte FC’s state-of-the-art training base in Charlotte, North Carolina. The journey time from Charlotte to Foxborough is just over two hours by plane, meaning that they are quite close in terms of the size of the US.

The final, showcase, group game will be played against Brazil at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. This is just under two hours to get to from Charlotte for the Scottish side, so they are perfectly placed for their travel.

McTominay and his teammates can qualify from Group C if they win the group, finish as runners-up, or are one of the eight best-placed third-placed teams. This new format is in place with the increased number of teams in the World Cup, up from 32 to 48.

If they are runners-up, they will play:

Group F contains the most likely team that Scotland will face, and in that group are the Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia, and the UEFA Path B winner, Sweden.

Where and when to watch

All Scotland games will be shown on either ITV/STV or the BBC.
