FC Midtjylland's Chilean international striker Dario Osorio has joined English Premier League side Crystal Palace for a record fee of €32 million, making him the most expensive player ever to transfer out of Scandinavia

Dario Osorio’s future is in the Premier League. The 22-year-old Chilean moves to Crystal Palace for a record fee. Dario Osorio is being sold for €28 million plus performance-based bonuses totaling €4 million.

This makes it the biggest Scandinavian transfer ever. Ghanaian international Caleb Yirenkyi held the previous record (€27 million) when he joined Coventry from FC Nordsjaelland.

With the sale of Dario Osorio, FC Midtjylland has set new benchmarks for player sales from the Danish Superliga. In a single day, the ambitious club from Central Jutland has secured both the biggest signing and the biggest sale in Superliga history.

Due to stricter Financial Fair Play rules in the Premier League, Dario Osorio is joining on loan for the first year, with Crystal Palace paying €2 million. Subsequently, the English club is obliged to pay €26 million—making for a minimum total package of €28 million for FC Midtjylland.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dario Osorio was not on the training pitch in Ikast but was on standby, ready to travel as soon as an agreement was reached between the two clubs.
