The experienced striker, who won the Danish title in 2021 with Brondby, where he was also the leading goalscorer in the Superliga top scorer with 19 goals, has since the winter of 2022 played for Philadelphia Union where he played 155 matches, scored 43 goals and had 28 assists. "We always keep an eye on Scandinavian profiles who can contribute to the development of FC Midtjylland, and Mikael fits really well into what we want. He is a guarantee of goals, but at least as important is the mindset he brings; he is hungry, experienced and used to playing to achieve", says sports director Kristian Bach Bak.
The new Midtjylland player arrives with a lot of experience, including 53 goals in the Superliga throughout his career, and is delighted to be back in Danish football, where he sees great prospects.
"The project, which has been going on here for many years, is incredibly exciting. When the offer came, I immediately knew that it was something I wanted to get in and be a part of."
"The sporting ambitions appeal to me; to be Danish champion and play the exciting matches in Europe. I want to win as much as possible and play as much European football as possible. I have previously won the Danish title and played in the Europa League, and it is something I really want to try again", says the Danish striker.
