FC Midtjylland has suffered a big blow to their campaign in the Danish domestic league and the Europa League as central defender Mads Bech Sorensen will be sidelined for six weeks with an injury he sustained in Sunday's 2-1 win against FC Copenhagen.

FC Midtjylland's captain, Mads Bech, limped off the pitch after a collision in the final minutes of the weekend's 2-1 victory over F.C. Copenhagen at the MCH Arena.

The subsequent examinations have established that Mads Bech has sustained a knee injury, which is expected to keep the 27-year-old defensive profile out for four to six weeks.

The injury means that Mads Bech could miss vital matches against AGF in the Danish Cup as well as against Brondby in the Danish Superliga, while his participation in FC Midtjylland's next game in the Europa League is also in doubt.
