Premier League Team of the Week: Cherki and Guehi star in big Man City win

The Premier League returned after a three-week break, meaning it's time to look at the best individual performers in Flashscore's Team of the Week.

Manchester City gained ground in the title race after beating Chelsea 3-0 just a day after Arsenal were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium by Bournemouth.

At the other end of the table, West Ham took a big step towards survival after defeating Wolves 4-0, while Tottenham dropped into the relegation zone following a 1-0 loss away at Sunderland.

Robin Roefs (Sunderland) - 9.0

Roefs continued his impressive debut season in the Premier League with another standout showing in Sunderland's win over Spurs.

The Dutchman made seven saves at the Stadium of Light while also completing eight accurate long balls to help the Black Cats push into the top half of the table.

Defenders

Jayden Bogle (Leeds) - 8.3

Leeds defender Bogle enjoyed a solid showing in his side's first-ever Premier League win at Old Trafford, with the Englishman excelling in a 2-1 triumph.

Bogle created two big chances, made three key passes, won five duels, two tackles and made two clearances and one interception.

Konstantinos Mavropanos (West Ham) - 9.1

Mavropanos has been one of the key components to West Ham's revival in 2026 and the Greek defender impressed again in the Hammers' 4-0 thrashing of Wolves.

The 28-year-old netted twice at the London Stadium but also influenced the match in defence with seven duels won, six recoveries, five clearances and one interception.

Marc Guehi (Manchester City) - 9.5

Manchester City pushed back into the title race on Sunday afternoon with an emphatic 3-0 win against Chelsea.

Guehi starred against his former club, with one goal, eight duels won, three interceptions, two tackles and one clearance.

The Englishman earned a 9.5 Flashscore rating, making him our Premier League Player of the Week.

Olivier Boscagli (Brighton) - 8.2

The first of two Brighton players to make our side, Boscagli excelled in the Seagulls' 2-0 victory over Burnley.

Boscagli was resolute at the back and won four duels, two tackles, made six interceptions, nine clearances and seven recoveries in a superb defensive showing.

Midfielders

Mats Wieffer (Brighton) - 9.0

Another Brighton player with a fantastic performance at the weekend, Wieffer netted both goals in his side's win at Burnley.

The Dutchman made a telling impact at both ends of the pitch and won a match-high nine duels and four tackles to go with an unlikely brace.

Rayan Cherki (Manchester City) - 8.8

Cherki enjoyed another outstanding display for Manchester City in their victory at Chelsea, registering two assists at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old has excelled since arriving in the Premier League and was at his creative best when City needed him the most - completing three dribbles, two key passes, eight passes into the box and creating two big chances.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 8.4

Another week has gone by in which Fernandes' performances have earned him a spot in our team, with the Manchester United captain standing out in their 2-1 defeat to Leeds.

Fernandes was once again United's main creative outlet and registered one assist on top of a match-high 93 touches, 12 passes into the final third and five key passes. 

Rio Ngumoha (Liverpool) - 8.3

History was made as Liverpool defeated Fulham 2-0, with Ngumoha becoming the youngest Premier League goalscorer for the Reds at Anfield.

The 17-year-old curled in a fabulous effort to give his side the lead midway through the first half and went on to have a major impact on the match, notching up 10 touches in the opposition box, making three key passes and creating one big chance.

Forwards

Taty Castellanos (West Ham) - 8.8

Another West Ham star to feature in our side is Castellanos, who bagged a brace against Wolves.

The Argentine was the Hammers' main threat throughout the game, with a match-high five shots and two key passes to help seal a priceless win for his team.

Jean Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) - 8.6

Crystal Palace called on Mateta to turn the game in their favour against Newcastle on Sunday, with the Frenchman scoring twice after coming off the bench in a 2-1 win.

The 28-year-old was on hand to head home an equaliser before calmly converting a 94th-minute penalty to secure all three points for his side - all within a 26-minute cameo.
