Ruben Amorim reverted to his favoured formation despite beating Newcastle United last time out, and his side had positive moments early on without looking completely convincing.
Jose Sa scrambled to tip Luke Shaw’s corner delivery away, before Benjamin Sesko came agonisingly close to picking out the bottom corner after turning away from Matt Doherty.
Wolves will have taken encouragement from their early showing, even if Hwang Hee-Chan firing over meant they weren’t on the scoreboard.
United were the ones to go ahead shortly before the half-hour mark with a slice of fortune, as Joshua Zirkzee attempted a flick that bounced back to him off Ladislav Krejci, before he sent a deflected shot past Sa.
After Hwang missed the target again, the hosts had chances to strengthen their lead as Patrick Dorgu’s attempt was deflected agonisingly wide and Sesko’s header hit the post.
Wolves still kept creating, as Tolu Arokodare headed over and Senne Lammens’ outstretched boot denied Hugo Bueno.
They eventually equalised in the 45th minute in a moment of redemption for Krejci, who capitalised on Zirkzee’s attempted clearance to guide a brilliant header past Lammens.

The Red Devils certainly had their opportunities after the restart, with Matheus Cunha volleying over and Ayden Heaven’s shot being blocked.
Sesko then sent a header straight at Sa, and Diogo Dalot guided his header off-target, shortly before Sa scampered back to miraculously claw away Yerson Mosquera’s header, and Lammens did brilliantly at the other end to deny Krejci before reaching the loose ball ahead of Mosquera.
Sa was then given a more routine stop by Manuel Ugarte’s speculative attempt, before Doherty deflected Dorgu’s strike wide as the hosts continued to search for a winner.

Yet, a last-ditch Dalot intervention was required to deny Jhon Arias at the other end and keep the game level. The hosts thought they had their winner when Dorgu converted after Sesko’s initial effort had been saved, but the offside flag denied them as Wolves ended their 12-game losing streak across all competitions to give themselves a boost.
The draw does little for Manchester United, who haven’t won consecutive matches since late October and will see this as a major opportunity missed to look up the table.
