Liverpool manager Arne Slot has yet to be handed a touchline ban following his red card as tensions flared at the end of a fiery 2-2 draw with Everton.

The Premier League initially put out a statement saying that the Dutchman would be handed a two-match touchline ban, but later deleted it after it was revealed to be a mistake and will review the referee's report soon.

As a result, he could be in the dugout for his side's game against Wolves this weekend should a decision not be made by then.

Liverpool were on course to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points against their city rivals on Wednesday but James Tarkowski struck a stunning volley to level in the eighth minute of stoppage time.

Abdoulaye Doucoure's wild celebrations in front of the away fans sparked a furious reaction, with Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones confronting Doucoure, leading to the dismissal of both men.

With supporters breaking onto the pitch, stewards and police became involved before Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also sent off by referee Michael Oliver.

The matches affected are Sunday's game against struggling Wolves at home and Liverpool's trip to Aston Villa on February 19th.

Doucoure and Jones will both serve one-match bans.

Wednesday's draw in the final derby at Goodison Park, ahead of Everton's move to a new ground, left Liverpool seven points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with 14 games remaining.
