From Manchester United's thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal to relaunch the Premier League title race, to Bayern's shocking defeat at home to Augsburg, there were plenty of storylines to keep up with in the world of football. Here, Flashscore brings you the weekend's Winners and Losers.

Winner: Endrick

What a start to his loan spell it has been for Endrick at Lyon. The Brazilian 19-year-old has settled into life in Ligue 1 with aplomb and had a statement performance in his side's 5-2 thrashing of Metz.

He netted two tap-ins in the first half, before scoring a penalty late on to complete his first-ever senior hat-trick. His confidence since coming to Lyon belies his age and experience as he tries to find some form to break into the Brazil World Cup squad.

What was just as impressive as his finishing was his ability to drop deep for the ball before driving at the Metz defence and scaring them with his pace.

Four goals and one assist in three starts for OL will certainly have caught Carlo Ancelotti's attention.

Loser: Bayern Munich

March 8th 2025 - that was the last time Bayern Munich had lost in the Bundesliga before this weekend.

Top of the table by 11 points, they were seemingly on course for an unbeaten season, and faced the rather simple task of dispatching lowly Augsburg at their home fortress on Saturday.

However, the footballing gods had other ideas. It all seemed to be going according to the script as midway through the first half, Hiroki Ito gave the hosts a 1-0 lead after Michael Olise notched up his 14th assist of the campaign.

Augsburg remained in the game, and then, chaos ensued. Arthur Chaves levelled in the 75th minute, before Han-Noah Massengo silenced the Allianz Arena by putting the visitors ahead six minutes later. They weathered a late storm from Bayern and took all three points.

It's unlikely this will derail Bayern's title charge, but it shows the rest of the league that the giant can be knocked down every once in a while, and the Augsburg social media team certainly had fun with it.

Winner: Manchester United

Whatever Michael Carrick is feeding his Manchester United players, we would like to try it. A team that looked bereft under Ruben Amorim has been transformed by their new interim manager.

After a superb 2-0 win over rivals Manchester City last weekend, they went to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday to take on Arsenal, the Premier League leaders.

Despite going down 1-0, they fought back valiantly and were the better side in the second half. Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha both scored special goals from range to see their side home in a 3-2 thriller, whilst relaunching the title race in England.

For the Red Devils, who only have the league to focus on for the rest of the season, this shot in the arm from Carrick has made them a real force again. They are playing attacking football, with a back four of all things, and can continue to look up the table.

Champions League qualification has to be on the cards for them now.

Loser: Thomas Frank

When your own fans are chanting for you to go and singing the name of one of your predecessors, you know you're in trouble.

The pressure has ratcheted up on Frank all season long, as his Tottenham Hotspur side continues to sink further into their own malaise.

This weekend, it may have reached the breaking point. They needed goals from Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven to dig them out of a hole against Burnley in a 2-2 draw.

Frank felt his side were "unfortunate" to not win the game, but there are so many times you can blame Lady Luck for poor performances.

His next five games in the league are all against top opponents, and there is a scenario where he doesn't pick up any points until March. Spurs' boardroom have a dead man walking in charge, but will they stick or twist?

The only saving grace for the Dane is that he still has a job - how long that will be true remains to be seen.

Winner: Barcelona W

Any time you win a trophy, it's a special feeling, but it's extra special when it's against your rival.

Barcelona continued their domination of the Spanish Super Cup, beating old foes Real Madrid 2-0 in the final.

It's their fifth consecutive crown in this competition, and they had a first-half goal from Esmee Brugts as well as a late penalty from talismanic figure Alexia Putellas to thank for the victory.

The gap, though, at the top of Spanish football is closing, and it won't be long before Real are knocking on the door.

Loser: David Lopez

It was a bad day at the office for Mallorca defender David Lopez. Not only did his side lose 3-0 at Atletico Madrid - their fourth defeat in six games - but he was involved in one of the more embarrassing own goals seen this season.

A cross from Marcos Llorente fell to Lopez's teammate Pablo Maffeo, and he tried to clear the ball inside his own six-yard box, except he didn't. Instead, he booted it into Lopez's face, and the ball ricocheted into the open net.

Lopez punched the ground in frustration after his own goal and it summed up what a miserable afternoon it was for the Islanders.

Honourable mentions

Napoli's title charge went off the rails over the weekend after they were dismantled by Juventus, whilst Liverpool's crisis deepened as they conceded a last-minute goal to lose 3-2 to Bournemouth on Saturday night.

Spare a thought for Turkish side Fatsa. Down 2-0 with time running out, they thought they had a way back into the game when a free-kick hit the back of the net... or did it?

Finally, staying in Turkey, this referee in the third tier was being optimistic in thinking a pitch with a metre of snow on it would be playable, even going as far as inspecting it in full kit.

Wisely, he called the game off.
