All 24 sides involved at this stage of the Europa League were already guaranteed continental football in the fall. It was just a matter of deciding which competition the sides would enter.
Only one of the matches required extra time, which came in Bulgaria between Ludogorets and Shkendija. The latter prevailed at home in the first leg, but found themselves behind on aggregate by the 25th minute courtesy of Edvin Kurtulus and Ivaylo Chochev.
However, the North Macedonian side would not give in so easily, levelling things up midway through the second half. Besart Ibraimi found Fabrice Tamba, and the Senegalese international made no mistake with his finish.
In the end, Ludogorets were not to be denied a comeback. A goal in each half of extra time was enough for them to win 4-1 on the night, and 5-3 across the two legs. They will be in the UEL proper for the ninth time.
FC Midtjylland finished off KuPS with a 2-0 success over the 10 men from Finland. The goals came within three minutes of each other as the Danes prevailed 6-0 over the two legs.
Samsunspor were unable to break down Panathinaikos in their clash, with the sides playing to a 0-0 draw. The Greeks did enough in the first leg to win 2-1, which ultimately became the final aggregate score.
Dutch club Utrecht also drew 0-0 in their clash, beating out Zrinjski 2-0 overall. It will be their second appearance in the UEL proper, 15 years on from the last one.
Dynamo Kyiv scored a fifth minute goal as they attempted to recover from their 3-1 opening leg loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Unfortunately for the Ukrainians, they were unable to score another, losing 3-2 on aggregate and dropping to the Conference League.
It was a similar story for Lech Poznan, as their 2-1 win at Genk was not enough to overturn their 5-1 defeat at home the week prior. The 6-3 aggregate score sent the Belgians through.
PAOK, FCSB comfortable winners
After a shock 1-0 reverse in Croatia, PAOK played a much better match at home, topping Rijeka 5-0. Five different players found the back of the net for the Greeks, helping them to progress to the league phase for the second year running.
Joining them in Friday's draw are FCSB, who found their way past Aberdeen. Alexander Jensen's second yellow just before the break ultimately cost the visitors. Not only was he sent off, but the Romanians were awarded a penalty. Darius Olaru stepped up and made no mistake to give his side the lead.
Olaru played a key role in the second half as he assisted Adrian Sut's goal, before scoring another to round out a 3-0 win. The side from Bucharest won the tie 5-2 on aggregate.
Sporting Braga came away 5-1 winners over Lincoln Red Imps to complete a resounding 9-1 aggregate victory. They make the UEL main round for the 10th time, the most of any Portuguese club. Malmo also return to the Europa League's league phase following a 2-0 defeat of Sigma Olomouc in Czechia. They won the tie 5-0 across the two legs.
Young Boys finished off their tie by the hour mark, getting the better of Slovan Bratislava 3-2 at home. Having won 1-0 the week before, the Swiss club advanced 4-2 on aggregate.
On Wednesday, SK Brann got past AEK Larnaca 4-0 on the road, completing a 6-1 aggregate success.
Friday will see the Europa League's league phase draw take place. That will start at 13:00 at the Giraldi Forum in Monaco. The first matchday of the league phase will occur in late September.
