Goalkeeper

Rui Silva (Sporting) 8.1

If Sporting managed to emerge unscathed from their trip to Juventus, much of the credit goes to their goalkeeper, who managed to salvage a draw for his team. A point that could prove to be vital at the end of the league phase.

Defenders

Derrick Luckassen (Pafos) 8.4

One of the protagonists of Pafos' first historic victory in Europe's top competition is undoubtedly the imposing Dutch defender, who not only scored the match-winning goal, but also led the rearguard and managed to keep Villarreal out. He won seven duels and had a 72% pass completion rate (33 out of 46).

Loic Bade (Bayer Leverkusen) 8.2

Bade was, to say the least, excellent in Bayer Leverkusen's victory at home to Jose Mourinho's Benfica. The French centre-back misplaced only two out of 75 passes with a monstrous 97% completion rate. He also completed one dribble and won six duels.

Dan Burn (Newcastle) 9.2

Newcastle are on a roll in the Champions League. Since a loss to Barcelona, they have racked up three victories in a row. The most recent one, against Athletic Club, saw the English defender among the protagonists. A thorn in the side of the Basque defence, he scored one incredible header, had three appearances in the penalty area, and won eight duels. He is the star player of Matchday 4.

Midfielders

Carlos Forbs (Club Brugge) 8.6

What a great game Carlos Forbs had against Barcelona. The Portuguese player was a pest for the Barcelona defence, causing carnage for their offside trap. A super performance, enhanced by two important goals that earned the Belgian team a point.

Xavi Simons (Tottenham) 9

Xavi Simons did not put his signature on any of the four goals Tottenham scored against Copenhagen, but didn't need to in order to still be considered the best on the pitch. This was due to 89% of passes completed, two dribbles and six duels won, but above all, being their main creative outlet.

Mikel Merino (Arsenal) 8.4

Arsenal are one of three teams faultless in the Champions League, along with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. And once again, it was Merino who made the difference - a midfielder with the soul of a goalscorer. It is no coincidence that Mikel Arteta asks him to play as a 'false nine' in his 4-3-3. A brace against Slavia Praha capped of a strong display.

Phil Foden (Manchester City) 9

At one point, when Phil Foden was not yet known to most, Pep Guardiola assured that out of the Manchester City youth academy came a player who, all things considered, reminded him of a certain Lionel Messi.

It is true that in recent years the Englishman's evolution has not followed the path indicated by his coach, but there is no doubt that, when he is on a roll, he is a pain for defenders. A brilliant double against Borussia Dortmund showcased that.

Forwards

Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) 8.6

At a certain point, when it seemed that Barcelona would not be able to get out alive from Brugge, Lamine Yamal lit up a far from brilliant game for Hansi Flick's team. A brilliant goal, 12 touches inside the opponent's area and 16 duels won helped save the game.

Lautaro Martinez (Inter) 8.4

On the eve of the match against Kairat Almaty, Christian Chivu had asked him to get his smile back and not to worry so much if he couldn't find the way to goal as often as he wanted. Well, Martinez did manage to get on the scoresheet, bagging a decisive goal that allowed Inter to still be perfect after four matches.

Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) 9

Goals are in some strikers' blood, and one of these players is undoubtedly Victor Osimhen, who single-handedly knocked out Ajax with an impressive hat-trick that boosted Galatasaray's chances of a top-eight finish. All this while Napoli drew 0-0 at home against Eintracht...
