NFL Week 4 knee-jerk reactions: Ravens season is over, don't sleep on the Jaguars

With Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season done and over with, it's time for some knee-jerk reactions to some of the games before heading into the next slate of games!

As a reminder to all, knee-jerk reactions are how I reacted to certain games almost immediately after they ended. These are not meant to be taken as predictions, hot takes, or any variations of the sort.

Now, let's go over some of the biggest knee-jerk reactions following Week 4!

Don't sleep on the Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are heading into Week 5 with a 3-1 record, the 10th-ranked offense, and the 15th-ranked defence. Don't let that 15th rank tell the entire story - they lead the entire NFL with 13 forced turnovers and a +9 turnover differential.

They lead the NFL with nine interceptions and are tied for the second-most forced fumbles with four.

Travis Etienne Jr. is currently third in rushing, seventh in scrimmage yards, and tied for third in total touchdowns after going three straight weeks now with a TD in each.

In 2024, Etienne Jr. had just 588 rushing yards. Now he's just 165 away from topping it and on pace for 1,600 yards on the ground - which would set a career-best by almost 500 yards.

Their offensive line has the sixth-best run-blocking grade (69.1) and the third-best pass-blocking grade (70.3). On defense, they have the fourth-highest overall grade (78.2) and the No. 3 coverage team (76.0).

Jacksonville has six different guys on defence with at least one interception. Linebacker Devin Lloyd leads not only the team, with three interceptions, but is tied for the most in the NFL alongside Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard III.

After losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in a game they should've won, Jacksonville could very well be 4-0 right now. But now the real test of their schedule is beginning. They take on the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks at home, then travel to London to take on the Los Angeles Rams - a combined 8-4 record.

Baltimore Ravens season is over

After putting up such a putrid performance against the Chiefs in Week 4 that caused media outlets everywhere to just make jokes about them, the Ravens will be without a plethora of starters on a defence that already ranks dead last.

Oh, and to boot, quarterback Lamar Jackson is unlikely to play this week and could be sidelined until the Ravens return from their bye in four weeks.

Linebacker Roquan Smith, cornerback Marlon Humphrey, and defensive tackle Broderick Washington (IR) are all out at least the next three to four weeks. Defensive tackle star Nnamdi Madubuike was ruled out for the season. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley could possibly miss time after leaving the game early on Sunday. And their best cornerback in Nate Wiggins was carted off the field on Sunday with an elbow injury, leaving his status for the coming weeks in doubt as well.

Let me make this very clear - they have the Houston Texans this week, a team with one of the most ferocious pass rushes in the entire NFL, then a Rams team, also with a phenomenal pass rush, that could quite possibly be Super Bowl contenders with a healthy Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, and Puka Nacua

Their Super Bowl window is officially closed if they go 1-5 entering the bye week. Only four teams in NFL history have made the playoffs after starting 1-5 - none have won the Super Bowl.

Something is in the water in Baltimore because they are playing in perfect parallel to their baseball counterparts in the Orioles, who were expected to be World Series contenders this year and missed the playoffs entirely.

Cam Ward's reaction is perfect

It's nice to see a quarterback, a leader of an NFL team, who has insane expectations on him after being the No. 1 overall pick in this years draft, speak his mind on the current state of the Tennessee Titans

Ward had a particular choice of words this week and I wish more teams in the Titans boat had players who aren't shy of the reality that they're also facing.

The Titans are 0-4 this season with the 31st-ranked offence and 25th-ranked defence. Their 51 points are the lowest in the league.

Ward has put up less than 200 yards in the air in three of their four games and only has two touchdowns on the season. Tony Pollard has yet to eclipse 100 yards in a game on the ground. And their offensive line has given up a league-leading 14 sacks - no other team has given up more than 10.

It's going to be a long season for Ward, but his reaction is completely justified and hopefully it sparks a flame in the Titans locker room.

'It's paradoxical and yet it works'

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a 3-1 record heading into Week 4 and clear command of the AFC North right now as the Ravens crumble at the foundation.

But none of it makes sense when you look at the stat sheet, proving that it never tells the whole story. Pittsburgh is in the bottom five in both offence and defence.

They aren't even in the top 15 in points scored.

So what in the heck is working so well? Well, the last two weeks, they've put up seven 11 on almost 50 pressures and have forced seven turnovers.

Even safety DeShon Elliott recorded an interception in his first game back this past weekend.

They're now second to the Jaguars in forced turnovers (10) and turnover differential (+7) - we're starting to see a trend here.

If Pittsburgh can remain the turnover machine they've been, the AFC North will be theirs with games to spare come the end of the season.
