The big names enter the equation at the Monte Carlo Masters today, as defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner begin their campaigns in the second round of one of tennis' most picturesque and prestigious events.

09:00 CET - Welcome to our coverage of the Monte Carlo Masters this Tuesday morning, with the second round getting underway in Monaco, while the last few first-round matches also come to an end.

These one-week 1000 events get to business from the off, and the schedule today illustrates that.

Play begins at 11:00 CET, with wildcard Matteo Berrettini getting proceedings underway on Court Rainier III against lucky loser Roberto Bautista Agut.

Things really begin to spice up after that when world number two Jannik Sinner begins his clay-court season against Ugo Humbert, while also looking to extend his record of 34 consecutive sets won at Masters events.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will follow as he aims to fend off Sinner and hold onto his world number one ranking, with Sebastian Baez his second-round opponent.

Finally, expect a match full of pure entertainment, as 39-year-old Gael Monfils - who is playing for the last time at Monte Carlo - meets the enigmatic eighth seed Alexander Bublik

On Court des Princes, Grigor Dimitrov kicks things off against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, before Jakub Mensik clashes with Fabian Marozsan.

Casper Ruud then returns to his favourite surface against Alexei Popyrin, followed swiftly by a meeting between Alex de Minaur and Cameron Norrie.
