Murakami, 26, brought his home run season total up to 17 - the second most in the entire league behind Kyle Schwarber (20). His first came in the third inning off Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon.
It would only take two more innings for the Southside Samurai to go yard again off Taillon to give his White Sox a commanding 7-0 lead.
This game marked Murakami's fourth of the season in which he put up three RBI, needing just two more to set a new single-game high.
The Japanese star signed a two-year, $34 million contract with the White Sox during the offseason. Now, the rookie continues to make an early case for the American League Rookie of the Year Award.
Following his two home runs, Murakami brought his batting average up to .237 and his OPS up to .949 (slugging % + on-base %).
