LSU informed football head coach Brian Kelly on Sunday that the program will be dismissing him from his position following a brutal 49-25 loss to Texas A&M, according to multiple reports.

The school is expected to let the rest of the players and football staff know more of the development later on Sunday night.

Kelly's dismissal will include a $53 million buyout. He leaves LSU after four years with a 34-14 career record,

Associate head coach and running back coach Frank Wilson III will step in as the interim coach. He'll look to get the team ready to face No. 4 Alabama on Saturday, November 4th.

Kelly signed a 10-year deal with LSU back in 2021. His $53 million buyout will be offset if he signs with another school.

LSU has now lost three of their past four games as they now fall to 5-3 on the year and 2-3 in the Southeastern Conference.

The Tigers finished last year with an 8-4 record under Kelly, failing to clinch an NCAA Playoff spot in all his four years at the program.

Kelly has 22 years of coaching experience throughout college football.

He spent his first three years at Central Michigan before going to Cincinnati for four years. But it was the following 12 years at the prestigious Notre Dame where Kelly became a household name in the college football world.

He would go 5-5 in Bowl Games and finished with a record of 113-40 while at Notre Dame.
