The early rounds continue in Basel, Vienna, Guangzhou and Tokyo with Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz, Jannik Sinner and Karolina Muchova all taking to the court on a jam-packed Wednesday.

23:54 CET - All over in Vienna for the day, where Alejandro Davidovich Fokina needed nearly three hours to see off American Jenson Brooksby.

 The Spaniard came from a set down to win the contest 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-5. We will be back early tomorrow morning for another day on the court.

21:53 CET - Alex De Minaur is into the quarter-finals in Vienna after a straightforward 6-4, 6-4 win over home favourite Filip Misolic.

20:57 CET - Top seed in Basel, Taylor Fritz, has battled through to the next round after a really tight tussle with Shanghai champion Valentin Vacherot, eventually coming out on top 4-6, 7-6(4), 7-5.

20:11 CET - Unfortunately, Jakub Mensik has withdrawn from his match in Basel against Joao Fonseca with an injury, giving the Brazilian a walkover into the next round.

19:18 CET - World number two Jannik Sinner has made light work of Daniel Altmaier in their last 16 tie in Vienna, beating the German 6-0, 6-2.

19:03 CET - Tallon Griekspoor needed two tie-breaks to see off Brandon Nakashima in a tightly contested affair, with the Dutchman winning out 7-6(4), 7-6(2) to make it into the Vienna quarter-finals.

18:00 CET - Red-hot Daniil Medvedev has come through a battle to book his spot in the next round in Vienna after winning 6-4, 6-7 (7), 6-2 against Nuno Borges

17:40 CET - Coming off the back of his title triumph in Brussels last week, Felix Auger-Aliassime has continued his fantastic recent form with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over fellow Canadian Gabriel Diallo, moving into the next round in Basel.

16:17 CET - Back to Vienna, where Corentin Moutet has had a relatively easy time of it, with a straight-set 6-3, 6-0 victory over Damir Dzumhur.

15:36 CET - Basel's fourth seed Casper Ruud is into the next round thanks to a comfortable 6-1, 7-6(3) win against Quentin Halys.

15:15 CET - Former Grand Slam finalist Matteo Berrettini is another Italian through in Vienna with a 7-6(5), 6-3 victory over Alexei Popyrin.

15:02 CET - Flavio Cobolli and Ugo Humbert have both claimed straight set wins to move through in Vienna and Basel, respectively. 

13:50 CET - The first match in Basel has seen the first shock as Botic Van de Zandschulp has beaten Jiri Lehecka, who was the finalist in Brussels last week. 

The experienced Dutchman won 6-2, 6-2 in just under an hour and a half to complete a dominant against-the-odds victory.

13:15 CET - Play is just getting underway for the day in Vienna, too, as Tomas Machac takes on Wimbledon quarter-finalist Flavio Cobolli.

There are some big names to come later with Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner and finally Alex De Minaur all taking to the court.
