Caballero stole second during Wednesday night's matchup against his former team - the Tampa Bay Rays - in the top of the eighth inning.
Tampa Bay dealt Cabellero to the Yankees during this season's trade deadline in exchange for Everson Pereira. Funny enough, Rays rookie Chandler Simpson is tied for second with 36. It's worth noting that Simpson has played in 20 less games than Caballero this season.
The 28-year-old Caballero went into Wednesday night's matchup slashing .233/.332/.316 with 2 home runs and 28 RBI.
Cabellero was taken in the seventh round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who later dealt him to the Rays in 2019.
He led the American League in stolen bases (44) last year, which ranked fourth overall. He still has 36 games left to set a new career-high, possibly reaching 50 for the first time.
