In exchange, the Blues received forward Jonathan Drouin, goalie Marcus Gidlof, a 2026 first-round draft pick, and a 2026 third-round draft pick.
Schenn, 34, has 12 goals and 16 assists through 61 games this season. He's now just eight goals away from scoring at least 20 in four of the last five years. The vet is under contract for another two seasons following this year ($6.5 million AAV), giving the Islanders a proven center.

Drouin, 30, has three goals and 18 assists through 55 games this season. The left wing has been having a down year with the Isles, but could find a new chance with the Blues as he's under contract for another year.
Gidlof, 20, is a goalie prospect who has been struggling in the SHL (Sweden) this season, posting a .896 save percentage with a 2.84 goals against average with a 9-15 record in 24 games.
The Islanders currently sit in third place in the Metropolitan Division with a 35-23-5 record (73 points - tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins). Meanwhile, the Blues are on a firesale as they currently sit third-to-last in the Western Conference with a 23-29-9 record.
