After a high-intensity first period and a physical start to the second, things simmered down in the third period as the Oilers took home a 3-0 win over the Golden Knights.
With plenty of scrums and yet another 3+ goals game for Edmonton, let's recap all the highlights from the game!
1st Period
Just under two minutes to start the game, the Oilers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard after Adam Henrique put one past Vegas goaltender Adin Hill to go up 1-0.
And it didn't take long for both teams to start getting rough with each other after a fight between Trent Frederic (Oilers) and Nicolas Hague (Golden Knights) broke out.
With seven minutes left in the period, Henrique found the back of the net a second time to give the Oilers a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
After a physical first period, both teams combined for eight total penalties and saw multiple scrums break out all across the period, even this one after Henrique's goal, where Evander Kane fell on top of Hill.
Edmonton finished the period outshooting Vegas 15-5 and outhitting them 13-4, despite what the previous scrum videos showed.
Vegas went 0-3 on the power play during the first period while the Oilers also failed on their lone one.
2nd Period
Kane ended up getting the last laugh on Hill after he shot one past him to put the Oilers up 3-0 with 12 minutes to go in the period.
The score marked Kane's 30th career playoff goal and his fourth of these playoffs, second of this series alone.
Edmonton has now scored at least three goals in every game since Game 2 against the Los Angeles Kings at the start of the playoffs.
After finishing without a goal, this marked the second time during the series where the Knights went two straight periods without scoring, with the first being in Game 1 when they didn't score in the second and third periods - a game which they eventually lost.
And once again, Edmonton outshot Vegas 10-7 heading into the second intermission.
3rd Period
Nobody scored in the final frame despite Vegas pulling Hill out of the net with four minutes to go - making it the first time in these playoffs that the Oilers have not scored a single goal in the third period.
It was also the first time that Vegas was held to no goals all game in this year's playoffs, leaving Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner with his second-career playoff shutout.
Edmonton finished with 32 shots while Vegas finished with 24. Both teams combined for 65 hits and 37 blocked shots.
The Oilers will look to win the series in Vegas for Game 5 on Wednesday, May 14th.
