31-year-old Haugsted, who has not played for Esbjerg since sustaining a finger injury early in the season, is due to give birth in April; the club expects her to be ready to return when the 2027/2028 season begins next autumn.
"I am looking forward to becoming a mother and to a brand new, exciting chapter in my life. I will be sidelined for a while, but I will remain involved with the team, offering my support and contributing in any way I can from off the court," says Haugsted in a press release from Team Esbjerg.
