Odense Handball squandered a four-goal lead when they were left to settle for one point in their away match in the Champions League against HC Podravka which ended 31-31.

Both rivals were looking to extend their winning streaks, but none of them managed to do it, as the sides ultimately settled for a draw in an exciting duel.

The Croatian team had also won their first two matches in the group, but on paper, Odense was a relatively clear favorite for the match.

Odense were the first team to open up a two-goal gap, 9-7 after 12 minutes, but despite the fact that they enjoyed a slight advantage for most of the first half, Podravka managed to draw level before the break.

Odense relied mostly on the services of Thale Rushfeldt Deila and Elma Halilcevic, who helped the visitors score four unanswered goals at the start of the second half.

Their lead reached five goals at 22-17 and 23-18, but the Danes failed to keep the momentum, as the Croatian side, led by the Pandza sisters, restored parity at 26-26.

The closing minutes were nerve-wracking, and while Odense were up 31-30, Josipa Mamic's goal with 29 seconds to go secured Podravka a share of the spoils
