Juri Knorr joined Aalborg Handball in the summer of 2025 from the German club Rhein-Neckar Löwen on a three-year contract, which is now coming to an end a year early.
"Juri informed us that he wished to continue his career in Paris once his contract here in Aalborg expires in 2028. Subsequently, the club approached us to buy him out of the agreement a year ahead of schedule, and together we have found a solution that satisfies all parties," says Team Manager Martin Larsen.
"Juri is a top-class player whom we value highly—and will continue to value—but, conversely, we have no interest in holding onto a player who has different plans for the future. Naturally, securing a significant financial gain on the resale through an agreement like this is also a key factor for us. We can use those funds to further develop the club both on and off the court, and we have, of course, secured a capable replacement for Juri—something we look forward to sharing more details about in the coming days," Martin Larsen adds.
For Juri Knorr himself, the decision to leave Aalborg was not an easy one.
"I have been, and remain, incredibly happy at Aalborg Handball. That said, I wanted to take on this new challenge, so I am very pleased that the club and I have been able to find a solution that benefits all parties," says Juri Knorr, who still has big ambitions for the remainder of his time in the red Aalborg jersey.
"I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to play for a club as big as Aalborg, so there is no doubt that I will naturally do everything I can this season—together with my teammates—to win more titles for the club," adds Knorr, who has so far recorded 61 matches and 266 goals for Aalborg Handball.
