The Cleveland Browns traded quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday.

In exchange, the Browns will be receiving a 2026 fifth-round pick. Las Vegas was looking for a new backup after Aidan O'Connell suffered a fractured wrist.

Cleveland recently cut Tyler Huntley, leaving the Browns' quarterback room consisting of veteran Joe Flacco and rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Deshaun Watson is still part of the team but is out with an Achilles injury.

Flacco was named the starting quarterback the Browns' Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 7th.

Pickett will now be on his third team in two years. The 27-year-old was taken 20th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft, starting in 24 of his 25 games with the organization. Pickett never eclipsed 2,500 passing yards in a season with Pittsburgh, but left with a 15-10 record.

He joined the Philadelphia Eagles last year as the backup to Jalen Hurts during the team's Super Bowl run, playing in only five games while starting in one while Hurts was out with an injury.

Pickett is in the final year of his deal and will earn just over $2.6 million this season. His contract comes with a club option for 2026, should the Raiders decide they want him back.
