San Antonio Spurs star De'Aaron Fox has agreed a four-year maximum contract extension worth $229 million, which will see him remain with the franchise until the 2029/30 season, according to ESPN's NBA insider, Shams Charania.

Fox completed a move from the Sacramento Kings to his desired destination of San Antonio back in February before the trade deadline, and has now secured his long-term future with the Spurs.

In just 17 games with his new side last season, Fox averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists, despite playing just five times with French superstar teammate Victor Wembanyama.

However, the one-time All-Star's season was cut short in the middle of March after he underwent surgery to repair a finger tendon.

In 62 games last campaign, Fox averaged 23.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds, which included a stunning 60-point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves in November - a Kings franchise record.

Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic was the only other player to score 60 points in a game in 2024/25.
