The Athletics placed standout rookie shortstop Jacob Wilson (23) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday due to a fractured forearm.
Infielder Darell Hernaiz (23) is being called up from Triple-A to take Wilson's spot on the roster until his return.
The rookie sensation Wilson had been slashing .312/.354/.439 on the season with 10 home runs, 45 RBI, and five stolen bases in 94 games. He was voted as the starting shortstop for the American League in this year's All-Star Game.
Wilson originally made his debut in 2024, playing in 28 games - maintaining his rookie status for this year.
The Athletics started the season off hot but have sat at the bottom of the American League West division for quite some time with a current 46-63 record.
