Perth AFL fans will need to race across to Optus Stadium immediately after work and school on Friday 24 July as the first derby between West Coast and Fremantle since 2005 takes place at a local start time of 6:10pm.
The derby will commence 30 minutes after the first bounce of a Friday night game between Geelong and Melbourne at the MCG in one of two Friday night double-headers to be revealed by the AFL.
Round 17 will see Sydney host their annual Pride game against the Western Bulldogs at 7:40pm, with the Eagles to take on Adelaide half an hour later at 8:10pm AEST.
The bottom three Melbourne clubs - Essendon, Richmond and Carlton - have been punished for their poor on-field performances by all being denied primetime Thursday and Friday night games.
The floating fixtures for Rounds 23 and 24 will be released later in the season.
