AFL Injury List: Who will miss Round Two?

Here is the latest injury and suspension news from all 18 clubs ahead of the third week of AFL action.

Carlton v Hawthorn (Thursday, 7:30pm AEDT)

Carlton made just one change to their matchday 22 this week, welcoming back Charlie Curnow in place of Francis Evans. 

1-2 weeks: Matt Carroll (ankle), Corey Durdin (ankle), Rob Monahan (groin), Harry O'Farrell (concussion), Hudson O'Keeffe (hamstring)

3-4 weeks: Matt Duffy (knee), Orazio Fantasia (calf), Marc Pittonet (calf)

TBD: Alex Cincotta (hip), Elijah Hollands (personal reasons), Nic Newman (patella)

Out until 2026: Jagga Smith (ACL)

The Hawks recalled veteran Jack Gunston after he watched the first two games on the sidelines, whilst Changkuoth Jiath is back after completing his recovery via some VFL pre-season games. James Worpel was feared to be out for up to six weeks but his prognosis has improved.

2-3 weeks: James Worpel (ankle)

3-4 weeks: James Blanck (knee)

Until at least Round 6: Jack Scrimshaw (suspended)

Western Bulldogs v Collingwood (Friday, 7:40pm AEDT)

The Western Bulldogs injury crisis worsened after Luke Cleary and James O'Donnell were added to their injury list last weekend. O'Donnell underwent surgery for a broken jaw but as of Thursday looked unlikely to be named. 

Fitness test this week: James O'Donnell (jaw)

1-2 weeks: Liam Jones (hamstring)

2-4 weeks: Anthony Scott (patella), Adam Treloar (calf)

4-6 weeks: Marcus Bontempelli (calf), Lachie Jacques (thigh)

6-8 weeks: Jason Johannisen (hamstring)

TBD: Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (personal reasons), Cody Weightman (knee), Luke Cleary (concussion), Riley Garcia (knee)

At the very least, Collingwood will be adding Jordan de Goey and Will Hoskin-Elliot to their matchday lists this week, with Mason Cox also available for selection after playing a VFL pre-season game.

Essendon v Adelaide (Saturday, 1:20pm AEDT)

Essendon lost more than just their match against Hawthorn last weekend with both Kyle Langford and Jordan Ridley failing to complete the game. Darcy Parish and Alwyn Davey Jr both faced fitness tests on Thursday.

The only change that Port Adelaide made this week was to give Christian Moraes a debut ahead of Jeremy Finlayson.

Richmond lost star forward Tom Lynch to a one-game suspension during the week.
