The Commanders fired Rivera at the end of last season after a brutal 4-13 record. Rivera spent four seasons as Washington's head coach, ending his tenure with a 29-40-1 overall record, reaching the playoffs once (2021) and never finishing a season with a winning record.
Rivera possesses a 102-103-2 record in his 13 years of coaching.
In his nine years as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers, Rivera led them to four playoff appearances, which included the 2016 NFC Championship game after a 15-1 season before ultimately losing to the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl 50.
It's still way too early to tell who the Jets will hire as their next coach as more and more candidates will become available once both the NFL and collegiate seasons come to an end.
