A remarkable moment occurred in an NFL preseason game, as the Jacksonville Jaguars' new kicker Cam Little converted a 70-yard field goal to end the first half against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Little's successful kick cut the Jags' deficit to 14-9 at the half. His team would go on to lose 31-25 to the Steelers in what was the first preseason game for both squads.

Jaguars coach Liam Coen spoke at halftime about Little pushing for such an opportunity.

"He wanted it, so we gave it to him," said the first-year head coach on his young kicker wanting to go for it.

"That was pretty cool for Cam. You wish that one would've gone in the record books."

Little's kick cleared the uprights with several yards to spare. He was immediately mobbed by his teammates and coaches as the ball went between the posts and over the crossbar.

The longest field goal in NFL history came back in 2021 by then-Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. That went 66 yards in a walk-off win over the Detroit Lions.

Since Little's field goal came in a preseason game, it is not an official NFL record.

The former Arkansas Razorback, who turns 22 next week, made all four of his kicks in the preseason contest. He also converted an extra point.

Little was selected by Jacksonville in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, having a solid debut year in the league. We went 27-for-29 on field goals, having also converted all 27 extra points for the Jaguars.

The Jags will certainly hope that Little can continue kicking like that once the regular season starts a little less than a month from now.
