Campbell will now earn $5 million per year as the Cyclones head coach through the 2032 season - the same length as Iowa State basketball head coach TJ Otzelberger. The two will be the heads of Iowa State's major sports over the next seven years.
Despite getting a slight bump in pay each year, it is also worth noting that Campbell took a lesser deal so that Iowa State could pay staff more money.
Campbell led the Cyclones this past season to the best record (11-3) in program history, ending the season with an insane 42-41 win over the Miami Hurricanes in the Pop-Tarts Bowl game.
The three-time Big 12 Coach of the Year (2017-2108, 2020) won his first after turning a 3-9 Cyclones team from 2016 into an 8-5 team the following year. Since then, Iowa State has only had one losing record (4-8 in 2022) under Campbell as head coach.
Iowa State will open their 2025 season on August 23rd against Kansas State.
