The two goals mark 44 total against the Habs throughout his career, and his 23rd and 24th of the season. His first came during the first period on assists by Anthony Beauvillier (9) and Declan Chisholm (5).
It marked Ovi's eighth of 2026 and his first in the last eight games, having last scored on January 23rd against the Calgary Flames.
The second came at the start of the third period to cut the Habs' lead in half 4-2. Beauvillier (10) tallies another assist on the goal with Dylan Strome picking up his 32nd assist on the season.
It's the fourth multi-goal game of the season for Ovi - two of which are now against Montreal. He previously scored his only hat trick of the season on the Habs back on November 20, 2025.
Ovi now needs seven more goals to make it 20 seasons with at least 30 goals. The only year he didn't reach that mark was during the 2020-2021 COVID season, when he put up 24 goals in 45 games on a shortened schedule
He also needs just six more assists to make it to 30 on the season for the fourth time in the past five years.
