Fuchse Berlin on Sunday night came from behind to defeat ThSV Eisenach 32–29 in the German Handball-Bundesliga, led by a 12-goal masterclass performance from World Handballer Mathias Gidsel

The hosts otherwise seemed to in control until 19 minutes from the end when the score was 22-16 in favor of the home side.

However, the visitors then switched to play seven against six which unsettled Eisenach, forcing them into a series of turnovers.

Scoring nine goals against only two for the home side allowed the visitors to fight their way back and take the lead at 25-24 with ten minutes to go.

Eisenach battled hard to turn things around, but ultimately came up short in the decisive moments as the visitors relied heavily on the individual brilliance of World Handball Player of the Year Mathias Gidsel to make the difference as he netted 12 goals for Fuchse in total.
