After finally breaking their Premier League duck this season, Tottenham face the fixture they dread most as they journey across the capital to face a Chelsea side who are dominant in this fixture.

Match News and Current Form

Chelsea returned to the top four with a 2-0 win at Everton last week which represented their first clean sheet in 23 Premier League matches. Fixing one of the division’s leakiest defences is top of Xabi Alonso’s agenda as he looks to guide the Blues to three successive league victories for the first time since February, and their chances look greater at Stamford Bridge where they’re unbeaten in six games (W5, D1). That run started in last season’s corresponding fixture (W 2-1) and forms part of a phenomenal run of just one defeat in their last 16 Premier League London derbies on their own turf (W11, D4).

At the seventh time of asking, Tottenham registered their first win of the Premier League season by beating newly-promoted Coventry 3-1 on Monday. That was just their fourth league victory of 2026, and though boss Roberto De Zerbi was left “delighted” with escaping the bottom three, a far greater challenge awaits here with Spurs on the brink of yet more unwanted history. Defeat here would be Tottenham’s seventh successive London derby loss in the league, a fate they’ve never suffered previously, and a measly total of just two goals from their four competitive trips this term (D2, L2) casts plenty of doubt over their ability to avoid it.

Head-to-Head History

Chelsea are on their joint-longest winning streak in Premier League history against Tottenham (W6). Spurs have won just one of their last 36 league trips to Chelsea (D11, L24), picking up just two points in their eight visits since that sole victory in 2018.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Chelsea have scored a league-high seven unanswered goals in the opening 15 minutes this season.

Six of Chelsea’s last seven competitive home matches saw both teams score and produced over 2.5 goals.

Tottenham’s last seven games all saw at least two opposition players booked.

Tottenham trailed just one of their last six league matches at half-time (HT: W1, D4).

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer sits just one goal shy of 50 in the Premier League and must be confident of reaching that milestone here having been involved in five goals in as many Premier League games against Tottenham (G3, A2). James Maddison marked his first Spurs start in almost 18 months with a stunning opener on Monday, but striking again will be tricky given that he’s lost all five H2Hs against Chelsea since joining Spurs.

Malo Gusto and Pep Chavarría sat out Chelsea’s win over Everton, which saw Emiliano Martínez pick up a fractured jaw which rules him out here. Tottenham’s injury list is extensive and Tosin Adarabioyo, Andrew Robertson and Omar Marmoush were all forced off against Coventry.

Betting Analysis

Spurs remain an extremely fragile defensive unit, and given that the hosts boast arguably the division’s best forward line, Chelsea to score over 2.5 goals looks attractive.
