Bolivia v Brazil (09/09/2025)

Bolivia host Brazil in a make-or-break final CONMEBOL 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier (WCQ), needing a win to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Match News and Current Form

Bolivia have had a topsy-turvy qualifying campaign, starting off with five defeats in their first six WCQs (W1), before winning three in a row to reignite their bid. Since then, the Green won just one of their last eight matches (D2, L5), which leaves them one-point shy of seventh-place Venezuela, who are currently on course to qualify for the inter-confederation play-offs. Their poor goal difference means they must beat Brazil and hope Venezuela drop points against Colombia, if they are to have any hope of qualifying for their first World Cup since 1994.

Brazil can already look forward to the 2026 showpiece after another smooth qualifying campaign, capped off with their 3-0 win over Chile last time out. The Brazilians may be disappointed in losing as many as five of their qualifiers, the most in a single WCQ campaign since 2002, but the Seleção would go on to win that edition in Japan and South Korea. That could serve as a lucky omen for the only nation to have competed in every edition of the FIFA World Cup.

Head-to-Head History

Recent history points to nothing else but utter dominance from the Brazilians, who have won six and drawn one of the last seven H2Hs, scoring 26 goals and conceding just once in the process!

Hot Stats and Streaks

Only three of Bolivia’s last 11 matches saw both teams score.

Bolivia are unbeaten in their six WCQ matches at home (W4, D2), keeping five clean sheets in that time.

The same half-time result has been replicated come full-time in five of Brazil’s last six matches.

Brazil have scored 2+ goals in just one of their last six matches on foreign soil.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Bolivia’s top-scorer from this WCQ campaign Miguelito will have plenty of responsibility on his shoulders, and he seems to shine at home with four of his six goals this campaign coming in his native country. Brazilian eyes will be on teenage sensation Estêvão, who scored his first international goal against Chile and became the country's youngest competitive goalscorer since the great Pele.

Bolivia are in good health ahead of this clash but Brazil have a lengthy injury list which includes Neymar and Éder Militão, while they will also be without Casemiro due to suspension.

Betting Analysis

Bolivia’s desperation could be exploited by Brazil’s quick and skillful forwards, making the price tag on Brazil to win very eye-catching.
